Percy Adlon – Filme und Gespräche

Ron Holloway war ein Fan von Percy Adlons Spielfilmen. Seine Dokumentationen jedoch kannten wir nicht.
Ein schönes Geschenk: Am 1. November wurden in der Akademie u. a. Der Wiesnpostbot (1974, 17 Min.) und Der Tänzer Heinz Boss (1976, 43 Min.) gezeigt. Beide Dokumentationen sind so ergreifend. Der Wiesnpostbot bringt morgens die Post »auf die Wiesn«, und die ist noch ganz still, fast menschenleer, kein Tam-Tam. Das soll die Wiesn sein? Der Tänzer Heinz Bosl, eine faszinierende Persönlichkeit, fesselnde Ausstrahlung, und so früh gestorben. Es ist zum Heulen. In KINO No: 44 (1991) hat Ron Holloway über Adlon geschrieben:
Winner of the Grand Prize of the Americas at the 15th Montreal World Film Festival, Percy Adlon’s Salmonberries was filmed in Alaska in the quaint town of Kotzebue, an Eskimo trading post named for the explorer son of the popular German dramatist August von Kotzebue (1761-1819), Captain Otto von Kotzebue landed here in 1816, and the region plays as important a role in the film as its characters. […] Working with one of his sparsest scripts to date, Percy Adlon has relied heavily on the striking artic-circle images supplied by American cameraman Tom Sigel, along with the ability of his acting trio – k.d. lang, Rosel Zech, Chuck Conners – to improvise key scenes constructed more on emotion than dialogue.
