The novel is a fictitious biography of the German mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss and the German geographer Alexander von Humboldt.     How happy would be Ron; his hometown was also Chicago. There Ron marched with Martin Luther King, founded a film centre und collaborated with the film and visual arts section of the World Council of Churches. In 2008 Ron voted for Barack Obama.
