nordmedia 150 Prizes and Citations since 2001

Since 2001, and as of autumn 2007, 55 nordmedia film productions were awarded 150 prizes. These included: six Lolas in Gold – German Film Awards (the highest subsidized German Cultural Award), a Golden Bear at the Berlinale (the first German production thus honored over the past 18 years) and a Silver Bear for Best Actress, two Golden Cameras, four Adolf Grimme Prizes (the German TV “Oscar”), two German Short Film Prizes in Gold and Silver, the German Camera Prize, the Max Ophüls Prize, the Prize for Best Screenplay at Cannes, two Silver Leopards at Locarno, and a Gold Plaque at Chicago.
The Golden Magnolia, awarded to Kai Wessel’s two-part Die Flucht at the Shanghai Television Festival, was the 150th prize awarded to a nordmedia funded project. Since 2001, altogether 150 prizes have been awarded to 55 nordmedia funded productions. The 149th prize was awarded at the 2007 Internationale Filmfestival Emden-Norderney: Writer-director Hardi Sturm was awarded the Volkswagen Screenplay Prize for Up! Up! To the Sky. nordmedia is funding the screen adaptation with its prominent cast of German stars Katja Riemann, Max Riemelt, and Armin Rohde.
