Rosa, Margarethe, Barbara
By Dorothea Holloway | March 24, 2014
Freitag, den 21. März sah ich auf ARTE ein Meisterwerk:
Rosa Luxemburg (1986), Buch und Regie: Margarethe von Trotta, Rosa Luxemburg: Barbara Sukowa und weitere großartige Schauspieler, an der Kamera: Franz Rath.
In KINO – German Film No:22 (Spring 1986) beginnt der Bericht Rosa Luxemburg von Ron Holloway so:
On April 10th, the day after the Berlin premiere of Rosa Luxemburg, Margarethe von Trotta together with Barbara Sukowa – in the title role – discussed with KINO the issues in her film. A few days before, in Saarbrücken, she had discussed in an open forum with Saarland’s Minister President Oskar Lafontaine the peace movement, the Socialist Party of yesterday and today,
and the role of an engaged woman filmmaker in contemporary German society.Indeed, this is one of those significant occasions when a biographical film blends art and reality, form and content, into such a dynamic whole that all and everything is interwoven: the person, the film, the book, the director, and the actress…
It was A Bioskop Film, Munich, in coproduction with Filmverlag der Autoren, Munich, Regina Ziegler Film, Berlin, Bären Film, WDR Cologne.
In KIno German Film No:23 (Summer 1986) ist ein Bericht von Hugh Rorrison unter der Überschrift:
ROSA LUXEMBURG – The Woman Behind the Myth.
