Kunstpreis Berlin 2003: Oi! Warning

Benjamin and Dominik Reding, directors of the film Oi! Warning, were awarded the prestigious Förderungspreis Film und Medienkunst at the Kunstpreis Berlin 2003 ceremonies in the Akademie der Künste Berlin on 18 March 2003.

One of the most courageous German films of the past decade, Oi! Warning was previously awarded the Prize of the Saarland Minister President for Best Debut Film in Saarbrücken in 1999, the Public’s Prize at the Montreal World Film Festival, the Special Jury Prize at the Annonay International Film Festival, among other awards and citations, plus an invitation to the Sundance Film Festival. An adroit blending of theme, narrative, and images, this is a searing story about youth who don’t spend much time on words the skinheads, punks, and dropouts in today’s culture, for whom yowls, slogans, and outcries (»Oi! Warning«) say all.

Our warmest congratulations, Benjamin and Dominik. It goes with saying: you’ve made a masterpiece!
