Titelbild hilft GAGA 3 ­ Medienfest zum Thema Behinderung

BeamTitling®, the system developed and perfected by Volker Hagemeier with Mary Carroll at Titelbild, was used for projecting subtitles for the 35 mm films at GAGA 3, a Media Festival for the Disabled, held 7-14 May 2003 in Berlin. Almost all the circa 40 films in the program had been subtitled by Titelbild, the German films into German for the hard of hearing, and the foreign language films into German for mixed audiences. A few of the films were screened with audio description for the blind. An example of subtitling for the hard of hearing: when a phone rings in a film, this vital narrative detail is beamed visually onto the screen.
